I know — being in front of a camera can feel awkward. That's exactly why I don't rush. We talk, we laugh, we find the light. And somewhere in between, the real you shows up. That's the photo I'm after.

I'm Muyinza, a Black photographer based in Boston, photographing weddings, portraits, and events across Greater Boston and New England.

Bring a reference and a reason.

“I like the way everyone is interacting” gives a different starting point from “I want a portrait to mark my graduation.” Send a page link and a sentence about what matters to you. If a photograph’s light, framing or expression appeals to you, name that detail.

For example, a graduation inquiry might mention one individual portrait for an announcement and a few photographs with family. A family inquiry might focus on time together at home. Describe what matters to you so we can plan around it.

You do not need to know photography terminology. Tell me who the photographs are for, where they will be used, and what would make them feel like you.

Name the occasion and who will be photographed. Add the purpose: a wedding record, family photographs at home, a graduation announcement or a birthday celebration. Mention any must-have people or image uses.

Share the town, venue or setting you are considering, plus your preferred date or date range. For a wedding, mark a tentative date as tentative and include alternatives if you have them. Leave unknown details open.

What needs confirming

Flag a deadline for finished images, access restrictions or a question about coverage. Check the relevant service page, then confirm session scope, delivery, travel and booking terms in your proposal.

Which photography service should I choose?

Start with the reason for the photographs. Wedding coverage belongs on the wedding page; shared photographs with parents and children belong on the family page. Graduation, couples and personal milestones fit portrait photography. Tell me what you have in mind if you are unsure which session fits.

Can I inquire before I have a final date or location?

Yes. For a portrait or family inquiry, share a date range and the town or setting you are considering. For weddings, include a preferred or tentative date if you have one and say whether it is flexible. If no date is selected, explain what is decided so far in your inquiry or email Muyinza. An inquiry asks about the next step; it does not reserve a date.

What should I look for in the portfolio?

Begin with photographs relevant to your own plans. Look at expressions, the balance of directed portraits and moments in motion, and the way people appear together. Wedding stories identify their actual locations. Save the title or link of a photograph you like and describe the part that appeals to you, rather than asking to reproduce someone else’s event.

When should I mention a deadline for finished photographs?

Include it in your first inquiry, separately from your preferred shoot date. A graduation announcement, family gift or printed invitation may need images before the event itself. Session length, final-image delivery and any travel arrangements depend on the service and should be confirmed in your proposal before booking.
